Toasting Nuts

Toasting your nuts improves their flavor in almost any recipe. To toast nuts, place them on a sheet or parchment or foil in a 300 degree oven until they turn brown and start to smell good. Timing will vary, but allow up to 20 minutes plus cooling time.

If you are using several different types of nuts (for example in my granola recipe), toast them on separate pans since cooking time will vary.

Toasted nuts can later be frozen, however for the best flavor, toast on the day you plan to use them.
