Cosmopolitan

Picture

Ingredients

1-1/2 oz. good quality vodka
1/2 oz. blueberry liqueur
1 oz. cranberry juice
1/2 oz. of Roses Lime Juice OR juice from 1/3 lime
Shaving of lime peel, twisted (a "twist")
ice cubes

Special Equipment: a cocktail shaker

Directions

1. Put several ice cubes in a cocktail shaker.
2. Add remaining ingredients (note that if you use Roses' Lime juice your cosmo will be sweeter than with juice from 1/3 lime).
3. Cover and shake at least five times.
4. Pour out through sieve in cocktail shaker.
5. Enjoy immediately!

Makes one drink, easily doubled.

Good to know

The quality of vodka increases with price, and more expensive vodka is tastier. Chose a pricepoint that you enjoy but doesn't break the bank.

Vodka is a "grain neutral spirit" and is less likely to lead to hangover than a darker spirit like scotch.

OXO makes a good cocktail shaker with a measure built right into the lid. You can buy one here.
