1. Remove cream cheese and jam from the refrigerator about an hour before you want to serve.
2. One cheese has warmed to about room temperature, mound it in a shallow bowl.
3. Pour the jam over the cream cheese; surround with crackers and a spreader.
Makes about 10 appetizer servings; put more jam on top as needed.

The better quality cream cheese and jam you have the better this two ingredient recipe will taste. Whipped Philadelphia cream cheese will work, but if you can find an organic brand (try Whole Foods), it will be even tastier.
Bringing the ingredients to room temperature increases their flavor and spreadability.
Although the recipe calls for a pepper jam such as the strawberry-jalepeno sold by the chubby chicks, it is very good with fruit jams like blueberry or raspberry (pictured above) as well.
